commuter college located on 4 acres (2 hectares) in Boulder, Colo. It was founded in 1974 and is independent. Naropa enrolls about 200 undergraduates and about 400 graduate students. More women than men seek bachelor's degrees.

The academic calendar is divided into semesters. Undergraduates may enter the bachelor's program as sophomores. Majors are offered in adult and continuing education, agricultural education, anthropology, art and fine arts, creative writing, dance and dance therapy, early childhood education, environmental studies, literature, music, psychology, religion, and theater. Graduate study focuses on English, psychology, social sciences, and religion. The school offers numerous options for part-time study.

Athletic competition is limited to intramural sports. Other extracurricular activities include ethnic clubs, chorus, a theater group, and the student-run newspaper.
