Christian, nondenominational institution located on 110 acres (45 hectares) in Newhall, Calif. It was founded in 1927 and at one time was called The Master's College. Enrollment is about 800 students, including about 50 master's degree candidates. Most students are state residents. About two thirds of the students live on campus in the college's single-sex housing. Extracurricular activities include performance groups, intramural sports, and the student-run radio station. Varsity teams participate in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics. The academic calendar is divided into semesters. Fields of study include business, education, music, communications, liberal arts, home economics, natural sciences, and religion. More than 40 percent of the full-time faculty hold doctorates. About a third of the undergraduates pursue graduate study directly after college. |
