private institution located on more than 190 acres (75 hectares) in St. Bonifacius, Minn. It was founded in 1916 and is affiliated with the Christian and Missionary Alliance. Enrollment is more than 500 students, with women slightly outnumbering men. The college seeks students from across the United States, though about 60 percent of the students are state residents. Roughly a fifth of the students are over the age of 25. Traditional-age students who do not live with relatives are required to reside on campus in single-sex housing.

The college conducts classes on the semester system and awards associate and bachelor's degrees. The faculty is made up of more part-time than full-time members. Areas of study include education, liberal arts and sciences, business, music, ministries, sports administration, and theology. Roughly 10 percent of the students pursue advanced studies upon graduation. Extracurricular activities at Crown include intramural and intercollegiate sports, choir, drama group, publications, married student fellowship, student government, and missions support teams.
