State residents make up about three fourths of the approximately 1,200 enrolled students. The institution is composed primarily of undergraduates working toward an associate or bachelor's degree, but about 10 percent of the students are seeking master's. Female students outnumber male. Freshmen are required to live on campus unless they are over the age of 21 or living with relatives. Business is the most popular field of study, with other programs being offered in liberal arts, music, education, and various religious concentrations. About half of the full-time faculty hold doctorates. The academic calendar is divided into semesters. The university competes in Division II of the National Collegiate Athletic Association, fielding teams in men's and women's basketball, soccer, and tennis, plus men's golf and women's volleyball. Other extracurricular activities include the student-run newspaper, intramural sports, and drama club. |
