Stonewall Jackson; continued to spy for Confederates; arrested 1862; released as part of exchange of prisoners; arrested and released again 1863; sailed on blockade runner to England carrying letters from Confederate president Jefferson Davis; ship was intercepted, but captain escaped when she distracted an officer, whom she later married; published ‘Belle Boyd In Camp and Prison' (1865).
